2006 2006 Jean-François Ganevat Savagnin Vignes de Mon Père

  • LG99

Les Vignes de Mon Père is Jean-François Ganevat’s most coveted wine and with good reason. Luis Gutiérrez sums it up nicely: “A truly world class white ... an eternal wine, the problem is availability.”

From Savagnin vines planted in 1930, the 2006 cuvée is a special 800-liter selection Ganevat chose to age in large barrel for 11 years, topping it up regularly until only 50 to 75 cases of wine remained.

The 2006 is one of the great vintages for this wine. Gutiérrez: “99 rating ... yeasty aromas and a mixture of notes of dry flowers, wet chalk, and something cereal-like, again, most likely from the lees. The palate has pungent flavors and weight without being heavy. This is really sooooo good!"
