The disturbing news out of Champagne today is that 3900 bottles of Jacques Selosse Champagne have been stolen from Selosse's cellar, making this most elusive of Champagnes that much rarer.

Even more worrisome is that thousands of labels were also stolen, creating the possibility that someone intends to falsify these great Champagnes.
As for the theft’s immediate effect on the American market, Selosse’s first shipment of the year to us, as his sole U.S. importer, will inevitably be delayed. We are also working to determine what steps can be taken to protect American wine lovers against the possibility of counterfeit bottles.
